Meeting 22.11.17

News We solved our problem from last week by buying the "SIM 900 GPRS/GSM Shield for Arduino" for 35.05 CHF. It enables to make calls from the Arduino to another SIM card. Thus the communication between customer and user is enabled. Hardware Testing The motion detector was tested successfully. So the "Hardware Testing" phase is completed. Program Testing We also tested our program that should recognize faces if the motion detector is triggered. The program works but still can be extended. Next Step How to connect the Raspberry Pi with the Arduino that is connected to the GSM shield? So a phone call could be made to the user if the face of the customer could not be recognized. Make a sketch of the hardware case.

Meeting 15.11.17

Hardware Testing At the moment we are still testing the hardware components for our project. Such as: Relais  Motion detector LCD-Display Button Camera   The highlighted components have already been checked and tested. Still remaining is testing the motion detector. Problem Since we have tested almost every components we still have a problem to solve: How to communicate with the client in front of the door? Possible Solution One possibility to solve this problem is by buying a cellular phone module that allows making calls from the breadboard. By now we only found one provider called Adafruit that sells one of these modules. The only thing is that it is a lot over our budget with almost 80 CHF. Next Step Decide until next week how to solve our communication problem.
